I agree Kevin. This Commer was in the Budge Collection - see photo below from umpteen years back - and then somehow ended up in a private collection in the town of Zevenhuizen, the Netherlands. It was taken out to an event once or twice where Alex and I spotted it.

It only came to light when the owner died and it was sold off to an unknown buyer, reportedly in the UK. Most likely, it now sits in someone's barn for the next few decades. It may pop up again.

I find this is the case with many vehicles, they are collected and stored, rather than displayed at events or museums. Even museums have huge collections they cannot display, and the same is true for private collections. I can but hope these sort of gems are dry stored, rather than rotting away in a field somewhere.

We have a "where are they now?" thread, sometimes we are able to keep track of vehicles, more often than not they disappear from the radar altogether.

I have attached photos of an Ford F30 that was restored in the early 1980's by John Jackson from Essex / Suffolk area. He told me at the time that it was one of the earliest CMP's still in existance in the UK, dating from about 1940. Could it be one of those Fords constructed at the Southampton factory, which was destroyed on 30th November 1940?
