Thanks for your support Gordon. My ancestors came from Scotland and we are indeed a determined lot. Good point about the utility/telephone trucks. They did do some over here prewar with crew cabs, not many. Today, they almost all have such cabs.
As stated earlier, I am going back into my civilian collection which is very poorly organized, and most likely will find some sort of answers there.
