			Interesting test track. 
 
Some thoughts: 
 
Then: lots of spare parts...plenty of tires...very little rust. 
 
Now: rare spare parts (at a King's ransom),  old worn tires...lotsa rust. 
 
Then:  Public in awe with modern technology... 
 
Now:  Politicians in awe of ancient technology...overheard at the opening of Veteran's Highway No. 416, at which the S&P Museum had three vintage trucks and guns - "It's good to see the army out helping us celebrate the opening". 
 
Then:  petrol - pennies to the gallon. 
 
Now: petrol - a mortgage payment to fill the truck.
