Canadians (and others) may not be completely up to speed on the Australian political scene, so a Who's Who may be of help. John Howard is our Prime Minister of the Coalition Liberal-National government, and his Deputy is the leader of the coalition partner, the National Party. John Howard's Heir Apparent in the Liberal Party is the Treasurer, Peter Costello and Number Three is the Health Minister Tony Abbott. John Howard is 64 years old and has been murmuring about retiring for some time, but he keeps getting re-elected which tends to put a hold on his plans. But IF he does retire and his sucessors take up the challenge, would Australia be treated with any seriousness if we were led by Abbott and Costello?
