I measured my back seat plate and the rectangular portion measures out to 12" X 6" exactly.
The flare holster bracket shown in the photo is missing it's grease nipple. The grease gun's hose would run up to the bracket where the alemite adapter would hook on to the dummy nipple. This was likely so the radio operator would get grease on his uniform and get the kitchen duties, leaving the driver free on weekends.
