Quite right Geoff, but it goes a little deeper than that. Canadian's are the world's highest per capita drinkers of coffee and and realizing that, Tim Horton's strategically placed their outlets on feeder roads where most morning traffic funnels in to get on to major roads and highways. Plus teaming up with Petro Canada gas stations and placing mini Tim Horton's in Shell gas stations makes it easy for Canadians to get their morning fix. Add to that the fact that Tim Horton's donuts are the best in the world! (and what goes better with coffee than a donut?) Now, as you mentioned, Tim Horton was an NHL hockey player (even if he did play for the Toronto Make Believes, if memory serves me right) so what better corporate symbol to have in Canada! Voila! one Icon, ready to go!
