Yes, in all the Mess Dinners and Dinings In I've been to, Her Majesty is "ususally" toasted in French but that is, "usually", replied to by us "The Queen" in a loud voice. My perspective is narrowed by most of the dinners I attended were Regimental in nature. We're only boisterous at our own parties, of course. I've only been to a couple of "Other Trade" or "Mixed"
Brigade affairs and it's fun to see the Infanteers, Sappers and Gunners get in all the Extra Duties.
That and at Corps functions I can stand for 4 Regimental Marches!!
