Default 54 mm collectors' Parachute models available now

The Southampton, England based Battlezone Miniatures Ltd are pleased to announce that they have kept their promise to introduce reinforcements to the 54 mm range of British Paratroopers that were launched and landed some weeks past. Since the two Paratroopers with their portable trolley and their colleague with binoculars were launched, sales have been made across the UK and into Europe with interest from around the world. The Paras were reinforced by another man mounted on his Excelsior Welbike portable/foldable motorcycle which we believe was a first.

The Paras have not had it all their own way, as three 54 mm scale German Wehrmacht soldiers were drafted in to oppose the Paras, and in June 1944 they were found to be warming themselves in front of a brazier during a lull in the fighting. The set of three includes some very fine detailing and together forms a mini-diorama that has been well received.

As the opposition have made themselves known, more allied airborne reinforcements were called up and this time a British Paratrooper has been joined by two Americans, from each of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Regiments again to 54 mm scale. These men are to be depicted, for the first time ever it is thought, with a parachute in each case! A great deal of thought and design has gone into the production of a vacuum-formed scale model of an allied parachute in white, complete with scale fabric ‘ropes’ attached to each troop made of white metal. The troops are depicted in mid-drop, with the parachute fully opened, and to that end an optional extra frame is available to mount the combination. To complement the troops, drop containers are available with parachutes as well.
