Default 455 Webley

Hi Tony,
.45 Long Colt is too long for the Webley Mk 6Cylinder, we used to ream out the 1917 Smith& Wesson cylinders to take the Colt ammo as the webley was difficult to reload to get accurat resultsThe crimp on the case was critical to get the powder that we had in the late 50s to burn consistently
Also the Smith& wesson cylinder was longer and would take the long Colt cartridge with safety, we prefered the Smith & Wesson triple lock but they were very hard to come by in those days,To put a long Colt cartridge in the Mk Webley to much of the choke or throat had to be removed and this was not a safe practice, I have seen them sold in those days in Melbourne Gun Shops for 3 pound 10 Shillings, or 7 Dollars give or take a few cents,

Ron,
