This article states that the Jordan Armed Forces placed a contract with the King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) for 50 re-engined Ferret 4x4 armoured scout cars for delivery by the end of 2007. An Iveco 4 cyl diesel will replace the gas engine. Not much else will be changed...
KADDB had one on display at SOFEX in March. These "new" Ferrets will typically be used for security duties at airports or vehicle checkpoints. Close recce within armd and mech battalions is expected to be conducted by another Brit retread: upgraded Scorpions.
It would be a blast if KADDB offered a Ferret for the upcoming Canadian Light Armoured Recce Vehicle project...
