Default fun with treads

Bob, the 2 knuckles outboard of the links your spider operates on are left hand thread, providing you can get your rusty bolts out of them they can be cleaned out using a bolt of LH variety made into a tap.(5/8 unf I think) As far as the bolt that goes through the spider as far as I know there are 2 types, one using an AF thread & one using a Whitworth thread. If you have the AF thread variety (most likely) it can be reproduced by getting a normal bolt, turning the diameter down then cutting a thread on the end for a nut to hold a washer etc... if it is the witworth thread you're stuffed!!!!! I knocked one up in the shed & the only thing that gives it away as not original was the bolt head. Want one knocked up????- might cost you a five spoke wheel tee hee...........
