Default DiamondT Bridge Carriers

John; The Canadian Army used three specialized variants of the DiamondT for bridging; These were all built on the 201" WB Chassis. They were - Lorry 4ton, 6wh, FBE(folding boat equipment), a purpose designed rack to carry 3 boats, also used to carry landing stage eqpt. Another was Lorry, 4ton,6wh, GS. Used by RCASC bridge Coys to tpt girders, bridging, rafts and Bailey bridging. The last was Lorry, 4ton, 6wh,Pontoon.Used by RCASC bridging Coy to tpt either 2 bow pontoons or 2 centre pontoons of Bailey bridge or Bailey rafts. Two truck mtd crane variants were also found on the 201"wb chassis, one mfr by Coles, and one by Bay City, used by the RCE for bridge erection or general lifting. Also,I would imagine the standard 4tonner (968A/B) was used as a GS load carrier for bridging operations due to it's heavy carrying capacity . Hope this helps.
Cheers, Bill.
