Indeed so, Texas population is about 21 million and about 76.1 people per square mile; we have 1000/mile².
Incidentally Derek, the 15cwt (1680lb) would refer to the old British ton of 2240lbs and for what its worth a recently weighed F15 with its Polsten gun tipped the scales at 3.3 metric tons ~ 7260lb.
