Hi Rob,
Mmmmm sounds interesting, pity you could not post that little bit of news via an Enigma machine that would get the boys thinking and trying to solve the puzell Just kidding of course, They are all very interesting machines quite simple in operation but a mathermatic nightmare.

This shows a rotor pulled apart, by doing this and matching it to another rotor it made the decription all the more difficult, the combinations are almost endless as all the rotors can be seperated and joined to any other rotor of your choice, unlike the Enigma where all you could do was exchange rotors
