The photos were taken during lulls int he tactical portion of a WW2 display event in Boobsboro, Maryland, USA.
The event features lectures by WW2 veterans, a field diplay by US, Axis and Commonwealth units. Our specialized display showed two carriers stopping for a supply run by the C-15.
Carriers advance down the road. Stop with sentries out. Stop engines for two minutes silence, then the crews get out and start checking the tracks as the C-15 pulls up to each vehicle. They pass out gas cans, ammo boxes and a Compo box, then go to the next.
After the last vehicle, they swing around the other side and pick up the empties and leave. The carriers then started their engines at the command, and motored off.
Actually, we moved to the review stand and told the public about our unit, Recce in general and what they just watched. Many of the crowd moved to look at our vehicles and chatted.
Later we were involved with a firepower display with all sides involved.
Why? Do you mean why take the pics, or why gather everyone in period unifrom and kit? or why reenact in general.... could be a loooong reply and better done off list.
