David, you can be a cheeky sod at times, but I'll grant some of your points... I served with and over some real winners... always got along best with the Warrants, who had been in long enough to know not to sauce me, yet knew how far they could push. The Army can't live without 'em!

i cant tell you how many officers i saw replacing the air in tires so they could put the proper summer vrs winter air in them.
or how we had a officer jump up and down on the rear of a M3 brad to check out to see if the shocks were in working order
