"Thumb screw type engine hoods" [from # 084XX0001, earliest known is 0842100138 which possibly dates to the second day of production] to # 084XX04001 and [# 184XX00001] to # 184XX05004.

# 12 Cab:

"Alligator type hood" on or after # 084XX04001 and # 814XX05004 to # 284XX01523

CGT:

“FIRST JOBS” up to # 084XX02995

The duality of 1940 and 1941 Models is explainable by the simple fact that GM of Canada assigned 1940 Model Numbers to the last of the 1940 Canadian contract deliveries and 1941 Model Numbers to the first of the British. Production for the British started on 26th August 1940 (Ford) and 3rd September 1940 (GM of Canada). The earliest known 1941 Model is # 1842100169 ENGINE # 3557966 acquired under British demand S/M 2002 [2B1 STEEL DROPSIDE].
