Hi Guys ,
I am the new guy that Howard mentioned in his Post . I attended the Cherokee sale today and was surprised at the prices of the CMP`s there were 3 Running CMP`s up for grabs ( 2 chevy`s C15, one Ford F15) . i am new to the CMP scene after admiring them from afar so my I.D of the vehicles might be a bit off . Unfortunately i didnt have my camera at the sale so i dont have photos .
The First Chev to go up for Auction was a Chevy crane apparently this used to belong to a demolition company in melbourne. The vehicle was in average condition with rust around the front windows and the doors , the passenger side of the cab had been altered with a second steering wheel and controls for the crane with a seat facing rearwards it also had a section of the rear cab wall removed .the engine cowl was still inside . It sold for $ 400 .

The Second Chevy was a Forklift conversion in running condition the cab on this one was a lot more rusted the engine cowl inside the cab was missing and the hydralics for the Forklift were leaking everywhere the Doors were missing ( i think they were sold later with other parts ) It also Sold for $400 .

The Ford was the Best i reckon not so much Rust in the cab the Grille was there but no Ford badge . The flathead motor was in running condition with no visible leaks the Ammo Box in the passenger footwell was there as well as the Canvas Windows for the Doors the Drivers door was missing ,the Cab was unaltered and seemed solid . The Ford sold for $800 .

After this they sold 4 diffs for only $50 dollars each as well as a transfer case some doors numerous gears and other small fittings also i belive i saw a bag with lots of canvas pieces which i belive was from the CMP`s . There were also some ford half chassis there with cabs they still had their motors and one had a brand new front diff in it they sold for a $100 each i think .

The bad news was i didnt have a trailer or ready cash so i didn`t buy any of the vehicles but the Scrap merchants there didnt get them either . So after the shot notice trip i headed home and stopped in at Daylesford on the way to hunt down some leads . After a couple of hours i managed to locate another 2 Chevy`s in a yard but the owner wasnt home . But his neighbour told me about a few other CMP`s so i went and checked them out and found 3 Ford CMP`s . One of these is rusted out but still has a lot of good bits the other Two are in excellent condition both having been covered by sheds until a year or so ago , so now i just have to contact the owner and see if he wants to sell them .

I will post photos of the new finds as soon as possible .

Cheers Plushy

p.s sorry about the long post
