I took this pic this morning about a mile from where I took that landscape photo (a couple of miles from my yard) and decided to post it so everybody could see that the countryside isn't devoid of life. The moose had given birth on the slope of the road and got a little bit excited when I stopped to snap a few pix. Notice how the hackles on the back of her neck are standing up. That means don't get any closer if you know what's good for you. The calves had just been born and could barely stand with their knees so wobbly but momma got them to move away from the road anyway.
