LP1 Hull- bath tubbed
Also in my travels, 5 minutes from home I came across this LP1 on the side of a huge hill. It was a beautiful saturday afternoon, sun shining and I had to pull/drag my 2 kids up.
This LP1 was clearing scrub (many years ago!) on the top of a hill when one of the tracks broke, it then rolled out of control down the hill until it hit a huge tree and came to a stop. It has rested there ever since. The owner tells me that a collector several years ago got in there and took most/all of the bits which would have been a big task due to the steepness of the hill.
It is fitted with a late model LP2A tapered pinion diff that is welded to the rear of the hull. There is also a Dodge car engine that must have powered it many years ago. Very little left that could be usable and a big recovery job due to the hill, but still interesting and the kids can now clearly identify Bren Gun carriers.
