Default 'Gate Guards'

Hallo, Wayne, and welcome to MLU!

Regards your 'touchy' question, no one's going to bite your head off, if that's what you mean... they'll just insist you need some "edumacatin'" in this field...

What you have to realize, especially with armour, is that there's no such thing as 'unsalvageable'. Furthermore, 'unsalvageable' interiors are ignored in The Great Carrier Hunt, as intact original armour is almost always the first thing to go under the gas axe when a carrier is being converted to "civilian" service.

It is not unknown for an entire set of armour (or sections thereof) which has survived unscathed to be mated with a good hull, which is far less rare.

In short, you'll be a lucky man to stumble across a 'reasonably intact exterior' that's not already slated for a restoration project (if you do, jump on it!); in fact if you do, you'll make far more mileage out of trading your find to a restoration geek with the capacity to manufacture you a replacement set out of mild steel.

We tend to look at stuff such as your suggesting and curse, "goddamit, that could be running!"...

Anyway, feel free to browse this Carrier subforum as well as the Restoration subforum to get a feel for what we do!
