I'll be blunt here: I don't want to see this thread turned into a pissing contest between supporters of the Leo and Abrams. The original subject was the disposal of the Australian Leo 1s and we'll keep it at that, shall we?

PS: You're wrong about the engine, BTW, it's an "... MTU MB 873 diesel engine, providing 1,100kW (1,500shp), with a Renk HSWL 354 gear and break system. An enhanced version of the EuroPowerPack, with a 1,210kW (1,650shp) MTU MT883 engine, has been trialled on the Leopard 2."
