One thing I wish I could do is change the age and physical stature of some of the members to a young, skinny look instead of 40-50 year olds with too comfortable a life!

Great pictures, looks like you have good times playing with these carriers.
I would not change a thing, even making them B&W is making them a bit cheesy if I may say so. Just try to get all the right kit in the picture, with the right background. Don't docter the photos. You could also stage some pics with some highschool boys dressed up as soldiers, would make a great history class project.
