One good thing about last night...
...beyond the fact that I had a good sleep.
At least we avoided the silliness of the proposed Mixed Member Proportional electoral system.
Imagine, 20% more MPPs to make the same bad decisions, but taking forever to do it because of the need to build a coallition to prop up a wobbly idea based on a public opinion poll.
Now we have to hope that the proposition is truly dead and not one of those stupid ideas who's supporters don't recognize that they've been told to take their idea and go away, but rather keep going until everyone is so tired of them that they somehow get enough support to put the idea in place "for a trial period" and then declare that it is such a resounding success that it has to be a permanent thing and that changing to any other sytem than theirs can't even be talked about, let alone done.
Understand that I have a low opinion of most politicians (as opposed to statesmen). I see one group, the majority of politicians, as being most interested in their own glory regardless of the harm they do to the country and people and the other, the true statesmen, as being there to genuinely help people and run the country responsibly both internally and externally, not pandering to every silly idea that comes along in order to win votes.
