This .50cal mount was manufactured by the Howard Rotorvator Company in 1959. It was not for an ACCO as it was too early for them. I was told by Mike Cecil (AWM) that it was primarily produced as an experimental fixed position mount for gate guard duties etc. It has three mounting points not four so won't fit the Humber 1tonner 4X4 either. Being very lightly built, it was not accepted by the military and quite a number were released about 7 years ago. I found mine at Bendigo Swap Meet in 1999 and paid $50.00 for it. The springs to counterbalance the .50cal are easily adjusted and it is a very easy to handle mount.
