Jay Leno recently bought a restored ex-Canadian Army Ferret Mk. I
It looks lovely, but appears to have the British War Department number painted on it and a maple leaf (apparently ficticious marking but nice to see Canada acknowledged.)
I do not yet know its identity. I have written to Mr. Leno to ask him what the CAR/CFR and hull number are. Although they say it is a 1953, it is almost certainly a 1954.
