Default Roastin' chestnuts by the fire.....

Take whole different meaning when heating up the lug nuts off a CMP.......

There was not one nut that came off with out being glowed cherry red..... and this with the impact wrench which put out about 450 pounds of torque. We have a bigger 3/4 gun but you risk breaking the bolt stud.

We are collecting all the good rims for the new tires. All will be blasted, inspected for damage or rust pits and painted. Suspending the half sections on a nylon rope and wacking with a hammer should give you a clear "ring" anything else might be cracked.......

Taking the rims apart will require more heat but this time will be using the 3/4 drive. Threads will be cleaned/chased and greased before reassembly.

The worst rims....some have a stud broken....will be used with worn Michelin block thread tires for yard use.

It never ends.....

Forecast now is +4C (40F) and rain... from green grass to total white to mud...... all in one week.

BooB
