Young Charlie certainly had his situation highlighted to the world. Back in Nov 2005, this flashed around the world with the thread on Pirate 4x4 receiving over 750,000 reads (!!!!) and the story being linked to about 100 other forums where much more was written (Why weren't we told!!!). Emails were sent to his prospective College, and Naval and Mil recruiters where he had expressed an interest.
Despite that, and all the threats, he may have survived all the fuss and become a Hero! In Oct 2007, we find
Young Charlie stepping in to break up a knife fight and getting himself stabbed. He survived!
