Don't know if this is the right time to be buying a truck from
Lismore.
"This one-in-five-year flood was the first test for the recently completed flood levee wall protecting the Lismore Central Business District.
The levee wall, completed in March this year, was hailed a success by government, emergency services and local businesses.
Around midday Thursday it was thought the flood waters would exceed the 10.95 metre height of the wall and so the city was evacuated.
However, the Wilson River peaked at 10.2m at 10pm on Thursday 30th June in Lismore, just half a metre short of spilling over the levee wall."
