I was at Reynolds museum this morning and they had this Cab 11 F15A chassis listed as a Cab 13 Chev. They looked at the rear ends and assumed Chev. You can tell it's not a Cab 13 because the steering box bolts to the frame without that extra bracket on the frame.
It has the cast housing on the front rear end so is an early 1940. I noticed that the front shock absorbers are Ford and the rear are Chev, so I checked my fire truck when I got home. Guess what? They're Ford front and Chev rear. Is there a pattern here? The Reynolds FAT has the cast Chev front housing so I checked it but the rear shocks are missing but the fronts are Ford.
They donated the FAT to the government Reynolds museum across the road.
I checked out several 15 cwt boxes at the museum for various mounting holes in the floors but it looks like they were all GS boxes so no holes. Too bad I didn't think to check for holes last year when there were so many more boxes there.
