Hi Rob

I just threw the $10,000 number out there off the top of my head.

If one considers the following, it's not too hard to add up quickly;

rebuilt flathead $3500
sandblasting and paint $2000
rebuild transmission and rear diff, brakes (assuming new bearings, seals and gaskets and you do it yourself) $500?
pull and replace or repack wheel bearings, @ $35 to $50 each x 8
new fenders and associated sheet metal, just have a look at Midwest Military site for prices
guages and electrical $$500-$1000
radiator rebuild $500
on and on and on....

10 years ago when I did my 12 cab Ford cmp, the truck cost me $900 and I put another $6500 into it. Considering the drivetrain and many other components are relative, I think my $10g figure is close on doing a carrier ad I would add that that would be if you were doing most of the work yourself.
