You can order reproduction medals on-line from The Royal Canadian Regiment Kit Shop, located here: http://www.thercrkitshop.com/index.p...x.php&catid=60, for $ 6.50 each (plus GST & PST).

The two medals that your grandfather would have received if he served in France are the:

British War Medal
Awarded to all ranks of Canadian overseas military forces who came from Canada between 05 August 1914 and 11 November 1918, or who had served in a theatre of war.

and the

Victory Medal (1914-1918)
Awarded for those who actually served on the establishment of a unit in a theatre of war between 05 August 1914 and 11 November 1918.

Some notes from his 'Attestation paper':

- your grandfather at the time of joining/enlisting in the '131st Overseas Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force (C.E.F.)' was a serving Canadian Militia member of the '104th Regiment, Westminster Fusiliers of Canada'

- the 131st Overseas Battalion, C.E.F. (131st Canadian Infantry Battalion) served in Canada from 6 Dec 1915 to 1 November 1916. Upon arrival in the United Kingdom (11 Nov 1916) the battalion was broken up on 14 November 1916 and were absorbed into the 30th Canadian Infantry Battalion, C.E.F. The 30th Canadian Infantry Battalion, was in turn absorbed into the 1st Canadian Reserve Battalion in the UK. The 1st Canadian Reserve Battalion trained and retained 'Infantry Reinforcements', which were sent forward to France in 'Reinforcement Drafts' when required, for the:

7th Canadian Infantry Battalion, C.E.F. (2nd Canadian Infantry Brigade, 1st Canadian Division)
29th Canadian Infantry Battalion, C.E.F. (6th Canadian Infantry Brigade, 2nd Canadian Division)
72nd Canadian Infantry Battalion, C.E.F. (12th Canadian Infantry Brigade, 4th Canadian Division)

Hope this helps.

Cheers
