My Grandfather
Robertson McColm, born Ayr Scotland June 1889.
The storey goes that he tried on several occasions to join but each time was found unfit because he had a glass eye. Lost his eye during a hunting accident as a child. Finally fooled the M.O. and was enlisted in 1915 and served in France. He was discharged with the rank of A/CSM medically April 1919.
