Hello all, new to the carrier game and need an assortment of items to rebuild an LP2A and a British Mk1.
I intend to rebuild these to be operationally correct when viewed from outside but I will utilize whatever radiator / engines / gearbox etc that are available as I feel that if they are hidden under covers and get it operational then that is an acceptable compromise.
If I cannot get hold of original parts I will be manufacturing replica items.
REQUIRED for the LP2A- Radiator (Probably going to try the alloy modern version but if a good original comes up then good)
- Oil cooler On the way thanks to David in Vic as well as a track winch
- Engine still needed, first one ended up with a really bad cylinder so before sleeving it I want to find another block or engine.
- G/box Probably OK to use one I have, rear support Found thanks Andrew and “wishbone” gear change bar still looking.
- 8 point drive coupling (g/box to diff)
- Dash/ instruments
- 1 x drive Hub
- 2 x axle shafts
- Handbrake lever assembly / got a lever but could still use a cable if anyone has one.
- 2 x front suspension units
- 1 x LH rear suspension unit
- OR trailing arms and springs / rods / spacers to rebuild existing.
- LH Idler / track adjuster bracket and adjuster levers left and right hands.
- Fuel tank / or fittings, filler caps, fuel pick ups etc.
- Headlamp units
- Horn
Rear view mirror assembly or bits
REQUIRED for the Brit MK1- Track, 1 side of track for the brit carrier is needed.
- Oil cooler
- Radiator
- Engine Got a21 stud that should work
- G/box with "wishbone" change bar and box rear support
- Coupling to a splined pinion
- Gear changing linkage, complete unit is reqd
- 1 x cross shaft
- 2 x front suspension unit Have sourced a pair of these. Thanks to Rob
- 2 x rear suspension unit (LH and RH)
- 1 x cross shaft support box and roller for LH side
- Dash / Instrumentation
- 2 x road wheel / idlers Found
- 2 x diff mount bracket
- Head lamps and horn
Rear view mirror assembly or bits
Probably not a complete list yet but that is an initial estimate.
