Nice piccies there David .

I noticed the 'L' plates there displayed. Those plates are STILL in use here , over 60 years on. Yellow overall with a black L . The modern version here a plastic stick on windscreen setup . I recall the cheap cardboard L plates down in Tasmania in the early 1970's, they were issued when you applied for a learner drivers permit. If they got wet or rained on they turned into a soggy mess ! I got the permit , but never went for the test .. drove around anyway ! Car was a 1953 Anglia with a Cortina OHV engine fitted. Student days .. one day the car came to a nasty end .. head on prang with a Ford Falcon ..ouch ( me not driving , in pass. seat ). The Anglia was concertina'd , no seat belts .
