Default Book, Camp Borden A Century of Service

While visiting Camp Borden Museum this past week I was about to make a donation on my way out when I spotted this book being sold at he front desk.

Published by the Base Borden Museum and written by William March and Terry Higgins it traces the steps of the basic evolution of Base Borden and the various arms of the services that used it.

Available in both soft cover at $25 and hard bound at $30 I chose the hardcover as better value for money.

I have so far enjoyed the read and looking at the pictures of times gone by.

Of particular interest are historical pictures of vehicles we know quite well now but were unaware of their original usage. One that sticks out is the Ford Half track that we all know at CWM with the flat rear deck that was actually a fire truck with an RCAF number 340 on the door.

There is quite a section on the armoured Corps history and the RCAF in their own rights.

An interesting read so far, its always great to see and read new books.

I am far from able to offer an opinion of how accurate the book is as that is not my area.
