Hi Alex,
You have a better memory than me, I could not recollect seeing this before, not mentioning it! It brought back memories of one of these belonging to a farmer in the Sussex village where I lived in the 1950's.
They were used by the British Army, although a standard civilian model. Look at Bart's pre-war directory, Army Vehicles to 1940.
