Hi Chris.

The CPR Angus Shops were involved in the production of munitions throughout World War Two. Have no idea what type(s) of munitions were involved, but production was underway both during and after the production of Valentines.

The CPR had three main shops across Canada. In addition to the munitions, I believe the Angus shops also built a number of different engine systems for naval vessels. Their shops in Calgary built guns for the Navy, both Commonwealth and the US Navy throughout the war. The CPR shops in Winnipeg took over the CPR’s railway production during the war, locomotives and cars.

Hope this helps.

David
