Default Huntsville Legion BR242 Remembrance Day

It was a bit brisk this year with a light dusting of snow on the Centopaph. I was able to add 2 vehicles to our Remembrance Day display, a 1971 M38A1 and a 1984 Iltis, curtesy of the 48th Highlanders OCA. Both vehicles had to be trailered into the Legion and only the Iltis could be used in the parade. As well, the Friday night before the ceremony was our annual "work night" on the Huntsville Legion's UC Mk-II*. This year we added added some stowage bins, a rack for the left front POW can and a gearshift/starter linkage cover. Earlier in the season, I installed a 6V fuel pump and repositioned the battery. it starts much better now, Friday was -17C. Iain, the young man doing the welding, has been working on the carrier for the last 10 years. He started when he was 7.
The M38A1 has had a new gas tank installed, new fuel pump, fuel filter and fuel lines plus a new carburetor. Unfortunately, the master brake cylinder is leaking so that will be part of some winter work to get it roadworthy for 2018.
The Iltis has had a new water pump installed, rad cleaned and a new rad hose installed. Unfortunately, the old rad hose blew just before it got back to the Legion from the parade. More winter work.
