Default Strange Pioneer/ Tool plate

Hi guys, i picked up this plate yesterday assume it was a standard plate for a Mk1 universal carrier, we had previously borrowed a canadian plate to copy for our restoration however ended up finding an original

but there seems to be some differences between them the main one being the tow rope stowage brackets the mounting plates are square whereas on the canadian plate and as far as im aware on the british plated they're rectangular, the other strange features that the convoy/ blackout lamp is mounted on the opposite side, there is 2 clips underneath that look to be the correct size for 3/4 inch conduit which would suggest that there was no number plate/ tail lamp fitted as the conduit doesn't come up through the plate in the usual place it's also on the standard canadian box lamp bracket.

there also seems to be 4 holes half drilled around where the tow rope stowage is but on the inside.

anyone shed any light
