Hi Petr, Does your clutch pedal have the top corner cut out of it as well?
My guess is the cutout was for working clearance in the AOPs.
Ross, I have not seen the "cheese grater" before.
The grip tread in picture two that I would call English carrier style was a commercially available material. I have found long strips of it on a post war Coles crane.

The ones I haven't mentioned are;
The Australian and New Zealand built LP2 and 2a all had the same style pedals a those in Colins LP3 (and LPP4 )

My New Zealand Railways (Hutt shops or Woburn built) carrier had flat pedal plates with no grip tread at all. Just plain. We'll see if that's a problem in the future.
