Hi Paul.

The National Film Board of Canada sent in a film crew to document that flood at the time. I cannot recall how long they were in Winnipeg but the finished product was close to 2 hours long. It used to be available to purchase on VHS. Not sure if it was ever transferred to DVD.

The RCN was involved, manning a number of DUKW’s that were disbursed to the Cresentwood Community Club on Corydon Avenue. There was a clip of them all lined up in the parking lot. Two of them were still in local service in the 1970’s and were eventually bought by Rob Loves favourite surplus dealer. Both were eventually sold into Minnesota about 10 years ago and their Canadian history lost.

There is another clip of a DUKW that was swamped during the flood and can be seen tumbling down Jubilee Avenue in the flood waters, headed towards Pembina Hwy.
