I haven't used the information in the attached PDF file to make a repair but it does look like a reasonably researched and written article. When I was first thinking about the repair I found several articles online:
http://www.avi-plus.com/repair-tips-...ure-gauge.html
http://www.ply33.com/Repair/tempgauge
http://www.mgaguru.com/mgtech/dash/dt101.htm
When Googling "mechanical temperature gauge repair", I found may of the results were referring back to the above links and several said they had used the advice in the articles with success.
Ebay shows several vendors for ether in the US, none in Canada while I write this. At least one of the US based sellers does ship to Canada.
I will be interested to hear your comments after your repair. To add to the information files, does anyone know the lengths of the tube on CMP Chevrolets? Cab 11/12, Cab 13, C15TA, Fox, Otter, others? My impression is that Fords used electrical temperature gauges but if any used mechanical I'd be happy to see the lengths required as well.
