My major purchase of radio stuff today
I needed a couple of antennas and mounts for a museum project, and found we were running out. My own collection of these was also almost exhausted. So I headed out to my favorite scrapyard today in search of radio stuff. I collected abotu 25 lower antenna elements as well as about 15 upper antenna elements. Then I was allowed in to a container that I had seen radio stuff in before. It would seem CFB Wpg had sent a lot of the headsets, handsets, cables, AMUs, junction boxes, etc as scrap. There appears to be stuff primarily from the 524 sets as well as 25 set stuff. I saw the word "vincent" on a ocupel items as well. I quickly tired from pulling the stuff out from the shed, and the back of the truck was full. But there are several more loads of stuff to come yet....hundreds of various headsets, and god knows what else is on the bottom rows of bins.
I am not a radio nut. I like to have an antenna on my restored vehicles, and a radio in place, but I really am not concerned if the radios ever operates or not. But I know some of you are radio nuts. There are a lot of things here I never dealt with in my service career, so I wouldn't mind IDing some of it.
So without further delay, some photos of today's haul.
