Childhood memory of an abandoned Universal Carrier may be confirmed by Google earth
I live and grew up Northern Ontario Canada so as a younger boy we use to spend most of our time in the bush. At the age of around 16-17 I remember taking a trek in the woods with my buddies and coming across a small boxy tank looking thing with tracks. It was is a pit where we took a shortcut and we use to sit in it quite frequently not knowing or caring what it was.
Now 20 plus years have gone by and in the process of restoring a MK2 Universal Carrier I can’t stop thinking of that Carrier we smoked cigarettes in as a kid. Haha
Just for fun I took a quick look on Google earth even though I wasn’t positive of the exact location and I think I might of found it. Still sitting there abandoned in a vacant pit. The pit is gated so obviously it belongs to someone but I think I might try to track down the owner of the pit and see if I can purchase it.
I’ve longed moved away from the area so doing this will be an adventurous task.
I’m not even 100% sure it’s even a Carrier I’m looking at.
What do you guys think?
