Ah ! Excellent David , slowly but surely we are putting together the whole story for future 8 cwt restorers .
I had no idea about those threads on the end .
Can you tell what gauge the U channel is ? Is it 1/8" thick
I tried some drawings of the frame mounts some years ago , but I was only guessing . Your pics clear it up a lot .
In the pic below , you can see the threads just visible on the lower folding pipe section .
The radio sat on a wooden bench on the forward Rh side . Battery boxes sat on the floor and the radios ancillaries were mounted along the RH side .
