I'm not sure if this is available from international IP addresses or not, but the Rural Fire Service has an up to date map of the extent of the fires (as at Feb 17). See http://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/

Zoom in to see an outline of the area burnt for each of the fires. The largest at this time is the so-named Sir Ivan fire (after the location where it originated), which has burnt for a distance of 40Km (25Mi), and has an actively burning perimeter of 200Km. You don't stick around to watch that. This started on a day of 45deg temps (113 farenheit), but today has cooled to mid 30's.
