GENERAL MOTORS HEAVY DUTY UTILITY WIRELESS TRUCK
This is an authentic General Motors of Canada MILITARY TRUCK originally manufactured in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada in 1944. It is designated in vehicle code as CSA 1500wt.
This vehicle is the Chevrolet 15-cwt.designated as the Machinery ZL The purpose of this truck was to affect repairs in the field in the forward position.
This original truck was used by the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers as a radio repair truck and served with the 4th Armoured Brigade in Normandy. Please note the truck's military unit designation's and serial number.
The truck has a 6 cylinder 85 hp general motors engine with four forward gears and one reverse. The original engine has been overhauled.
It comes completely equipped in its original configuration with all it’s interior canvas. It also has the original shelving, desks, stools, medical kits and rifle racks. Best of all it has the original electrical generator called a “chore horse” manufactured by Outboard Marine of Peterborough, Ontario.
