Default Stationary engine

Some years back I bought a Indian made copy of the Lister CS 6hp stationary engine , a single cyl. diesel. First released around 1930 Lister built these way into the 1980's or beyond . Very popular engine and many Indian companies built copies of varying quality !

These Indian clones require a fair bit of fettling before they can be put into service. I had to machine up new parts . I made new block studs as the crappy Indian studs were way undersize and loose in the block. Also made a new cam idler gear shaft with an eccentric adjustment in order to adjust the gear backlash setup. The bronze idler gears shatter because of incorrect backlash .

Also did away with the silly paper shims and made up a solid shim for adjusting the crank bearings pre load .
