So this is the same type box that I found on Ebay.co.uk and posted about a few weeks ago and Kevin bought. I wasn't after a British example. The one in the auction was Canadian, and appears to be in excellent condition. So I won the bidding, at much less than half of what I was willing to go to.
Currently I have a Midwest military repro (see here:
https://midwestmilitary.com/midwestm...carrierp2.html ) which costs $98 USD. By the time you convert that to Cdn, you have to paint it, rivet on the lid tab, then rivet in the rubber sheets..... well you can see how an original for $150 Cdn is a bargain.
Amazing that these things show up after 76 years, still in NOS condition.
